RAM Mutual Insurance Company traces its origins to 1931, when Minnesota township mutuals formed the organization to serve as their reinsurer. As the needs of township mutuals and their agency force evolved, RAM broadened its offerings beyond reinsurance and began providing loss-prevention and investigative support to the mutuals it serves. In 1974, the company entered the direct market for farm workers’ compensation to address agents’ needs, and it has since added a full slate of personal and commercial coverages.
