The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) serves as Qatar’s National Olympic Committee, overseeing the country’s participation in the Olympic movement and coordinating national sports governance. It works with 27 national federations to support athletes, coaches, and officials and to bid for and host major world-class events. Founded in 1979 and officially recognized by the IOC in 1980, the organization is based in Doha and operates within the spectator sports sector with a focus on expanding participation and promoting Olympism.

The QOC’s activities target athletes, coaches, officials, and the wider public, aiming to raise sports participation and secure high-profile events that support youth engagement, tourism, and employment opportunities. A notable recent development is the launch of a volunteering platform for sports events in February 2026, reflecting its emphasis on expanding participation and engagement around sport.
