Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) is a banking institution headquartered in Doha, Qatar, located at 559 Grand Hamad Street, QIB Building, Doha, ad Dawḩah. Established in 1982 as the country's first Islamic bank, it remains the largest Islamic bank in Qatar, with about 42% of the Islamic banking sector and approximately 12% of the total domestic banking sector. As of end-2016, Qatar Islamic Bank reported shareholders' equity of QAR 14.2 billion and total assets of QAR 139.8 billion. The bank operates a domestic branch network with specialized centers for Private Banking, Affluent Banking, Small & Medium Enterprises, and Ladies Banking, and it supports digital channels including multi-functional ATMs, mobile and internet banking. QIB Group has international operations, including QIB UK (wholly owned, established 2008), with additional presence in Lebanon through Arab Finance House, in Malaysia through Asian Finance Bank, and one branch in Sudan.
