Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 to foster high academic achievement in psychology and to advance the science of the field. It operates as a federation of chapters at roughly 1,100 senior colleges and universities across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Ireland, and New Zealand, with its central office based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Membership is open to undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty who consider psychology a major interest and meet minimum qualifications. The organization is affiliated with the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science, and it is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. 

As a professional honor society in higher education, Psi Chi recognizes scholarly achievement and supports psychology education and research through its chapter network. Recent activity includes partnerships with external organizations, including a 2024 collaboration with Teamdressage.
