Precious Life Shelter is a nonprofit organization in the philanthropic fundraising services space that provides shelter and support for pregnant women experiencing homelessness. Founded in 1988 and based in Los Alamitos, California, the program focuses on addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of women as they prepare to support a future family, with services spanning career planning, life skills development, health and nutrition education, and guidance in childbirth and parenting, complemented by weekly case management. When needed, the organization offers professional counseling and drug diversion counseling off-site, aiming to help each woman regain stability and achieve self-reliance. The shelter operates within a network of similar nonprofit organizations in the region, reflecting collaboration with partners to raise awareness of its work, as noted by a 2019 partnership announcement. The organization serves a local community in the greater California area and is relatively small in scale, focusing on intensive, individualized support for its clients.
