Positive Education Program is a mid-sized nonprofit founded in 1971 and based in Cleveland, Ohio, delivering services in the field of individual and family services. Rooted in the Re-ED philosophy, it aims to help children build on their strengths and replace self-defeating beliefs with resilience, knowledge, communication skills, and confidence, with teacher-counselors forming trusting relationships to support healing and growth. Its programs span integrated special education and mental health, early childhood, autism, community supports, and training and consultation, including six day treatment centers and initiatives such as PEP Early Childhood Plus, PEP Assist, and PEP Connections. The Sanctuary Model guides the organization’s culture to foster therapeutic environments where supportive relationships can flourish, and PEP is a Phase 1 certified NMT site through The ChildTrauma Academy. The program serves more than 2,500 children and families annually, making it one of Ohio’s largest nonprofit agencies dedicated to children; in 2025–2026, Eric Gordon was appointed CEO effective July 1, 2025, following the retirement of the prior CEO.
