Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Position-Tech is recognized as the premier manufacturer of replacement football cleats. The All-Pro Cleat System, Position-Tech’s flagship product, launched in 2011 for U.S. football. 

As former NCAA football players themselves, Position-Tech’s founders knew that lack of traction on the football field can cost a team the game. Position-Tech set out to address this traction problem, by developing patent pending replaceable cleats.

Several years ago, the NFL also recognized the importance of traction and commissioned Boise State University (BSU) to develop and manufacture a testing mechanism and methodology (named the “Turf Buster”) to measure surface traction coefficients. In May 2011, Position-Tech’s Pro Cleat System underwent testing at BSU’s Center for Orthopaedic and Biomechanics Research, using this high powered testing device. The results exceeded expectations and Position-Tech cleats were proven to provide 20% better traction over the standard replacement cleat. 

The football community has embraced Position-Tech’s cleats at every level of play. Several professional teams, over 25 college programs, and tens of thousands of high school athletes nationwide have made the switch to Position-Tech’s cleats and experienced the traction advantage. 

The product line is targeted at the domestic football market with future expansion into the sports of lacrosse and international soccer scheduled to take place in the next 24-36 months.
