Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) is a government administration port located at 1350 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130, employing between 201 and 500 people. It operates as a deep-draft port on the Mississippi River with Gulf of Mexico access and connections to more than 30 major hubs via 14,500 miles of waterways, six Class I railroads, and interstate highways, providing integrated logistics across river, rail, and road. The port's facilities include 20 million square feet of cargo handling space, more than 3.1 million square feet of covered storage, and about 1.7 million square feet of cruise and parking facilities; container facilities are at the Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal Complex, breakbulk facilities are located upriver, downriver, and on the Inner Harbor, and cruise terminals are at Julia and Erato Street. Statewide maritime activity associated with Port NOLA supports 21,700 jobs, $4.3 billion in output, and $76.8 million in state taxes, while nationwide it underpins approximately 119,510 jobs and $29.8 billion in output, along with $1.9 billion in annual federal tax revenue. Recent leadership changes include the appointment of a President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2024 and the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer in November 2025.
