Port of Bellingham is a countywide independent special-purpose government headquartered in Bellingham, Washington. Created by a countywide vote in 1920, it is governed by three nonpartisan elected commissioners. It operates as a multi‑purpose agency with facilities in Bellingham, Blaine, and Sumas, managing transportation terminals, two major marinas, and a deep‑draft marine terminal, while overseeing about 1,600 acres of public land with roughly 250 local business tenants and supporting economic development throughout Whatcom County.
