Polaris Dance Theatre is a Portland-based nonprofit that has been presenting contemporary dance since 2002. Led by artistic director Robert Guitron, the company stages a three-production season featuring its professional ensemble and a range of local, national, and international dancers and choreographers. In addition to the main company, Polaris runs a pre-professional Polaris Junior Company that commits to two annual performances, along with student showcases.

The organization emphasizes accessibility, presenting free public events alongside more affordable season options to reach families across socioeconomic backgrounds. It also emphasizes inclusive participation, engaging performers of mixed abilities to build community and help dancers develop their artistic voice, self-esteem, and connection with audiences. Over the past ten years it has produced more than 340 new works and brought nearly 11,000 audience members, illustrating its function as a non-profit contemporary dance presenter that also supports artist development.
