Pharos University in Alexandria is a private higher education institution located in Alexandria, Egypt. It is the first private university established in Alexandria, with founding decrees issued in 2006 (No. 252) and 2009 (No. 302). The university’s degree certificates are accredited by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education. Pharos University maintains regional and international affiliations as a member of the Association of Arab Universities and the Euro-Mediterranean Universities Union, and it engages in cooperation with European and American universities through student and faculty exchange programs. In 2025, Pharos University partnered with the American University in Cairo's School of Global Affairs and Public Policy to launch the Jusoor (Bridges) initiative.
