The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) is a government administration organization that supports Pennsylvania townships by working to preserve and strengthen local governance and to broaden their visibility in state and federal politics on a nonpartisan basis. It represents townships of the second class, encompassing about 1,454 member townships and roughly 10,000 elected township officials. The organization is based in Enola, Pennsylvania, and operates under a 12‑member executive board elected by member townships. Its staff brings expertise in township laws and regulations, governmental affairs, environmental management, communications, and training. Nine standing committees, composed of township officials, supervise distinct areas of the association’s work, while PSATS also sponsors a broad array of training programs for township officials and employees to address evolving governance challenges. Notable recent developments include the launch of the Municipal Government Academy in 2023, and ongoing recognition events such as PSATS’ Excellence Awards, which have highlighted accomplishments in citizen communication.
