The district operates a full pre-kindergarten through 12th grade structure, including an early childhood center, seven elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school, and a comprehensive high school, serving more than 5,000 students. It relies on a substantial staff of educators and support personnel, with governance carried out by a nine-member Board of Education elected in November. The district serves a diverse community within the 12.2-square-mile Township of Pennsauken, which has around 35,000 residents and lies near Philadelphia and several major universities. In 2024, the district appointed Caroline Steer as acting superintendent. It has engaged in partnerships such as a 2021 collaboration with Virtua Health for a vaccination program and a 2019 association with the Yogi Berra Museum linked to a student design initiative.
