Paul Public Charter School is a public charter school serving primary and secondary education in Washington, District of Columbia. It was established in 2000 as the district’s first conversion public charter school and is named after pioneer educator Edward Paul. The school emphasizes a nurturing, structured environment intended to develop students into responsible citizens, independent thinkers, and leaders. A notable milestone in its history is the opening of the Cecile R. Middleton Ninth Grade Academy in 2009 to assist freshmen as they transition to high school. Today, Paul PCS is expanding to a full 6-12 college preparatory charter school, serving a diverse student body drawn from across the District.
