Pathways Transition Programs, Inc. is a private mental health center based in downtown Decatur, Georgia. Founded in 1991, the organization emphasizes services that are innovative, accountable, and responsive to a diverse client base. Its clients include low-income single-parent families; families experiencing chronic instability; children in foster care and those with developmental or behavioral challenges; women who have experienced domestic violence and may lack self-advocacy skills; families involved with child protective services and juvenile justice; and LGBT individuals, couples, and families. Its mission is to help adults, children, and their parents and caregivers prevail over difficult life circumstances. By acknowledging each family's distinct situation, the center provides tools to understand children's emotional needs, manage behaviors, and promote self-regulation, self-worth, and connections with family and community so that adults find greater joy and children grow into compassionate, confident individuals.
