PEAR is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based research services organization formed as a B Corporation spinoff of The PEAR Institute at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School in 2020. It develops and disseminates evidence-based approaches to social-emotional development and STEM education within K-12 and after-school settings, and provides trainings and assessment tools to help educators gauge program quality, SEL progress, and student engagement.

PEAR adopts a developmental perspective to evaluating new educational models and draws on educational, health, public policy, and psychological viewpoints. Its programs are implemented in schools and after-school programs across the United States and internationally. The organization maintains a multidisciplinary staff including psychiatrists, social workers, instructional specialists, teachers, and former after-school program administrators. It partners with school districts and youth-serving organizations to foster social-emotional development in support of student engagement, academic achievement, and broader life outcomes.
