PaintCare Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) environmental services organization that represents paint manufacturers in planning and operating paint stewardship programs in United States states and jurisdictions that have enacted paint stewardship laws. Established in 2009, PaintCare arose from ACA's efforts through the Paint Producer Stewardship Initiative facilitated by the Product Stewardship Institute to support the passage of the first paint stewardship law in Oregon. Since its founding, PaintCare has launched paint stewardship programs across California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. In states where it operates, households and businesses are encouraged to bring unwanted leftover paint to PaintCare drop-off sites, most of which are paint retailers open year-round and seven days a week, with more than 3,000 drop-off sites across programs. The organization is headquartered at 901 New York Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20001, United States, employs 11-50 people, and maintains a website at https://paintcare.org.
