Pacific Vision Foundation is a small nonprofit based in San Francisco, California, focused on improving health equity in eye health and vision through collaboration with physicians and partner organizations to provide care and training. For more than four decades, PVF has supported the Department of Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center's residency program, helping educate and prepare the next generation of eye care specialists while benefiting underserved patients. In 2020, PVF opened the Pacific Vision Surgery Center, a two-operatory ambulatory surgery center within its Eye Institute building, to expand access to cataract, glaucoma, and retina surgeries. Patients from Federally Qualified Health Centers are referred through PVF's partners, including Lions Eye Foundation, CPMC, and Sutter Clinic, with surgeries provided at no cost to patients. PVF also supports ophthalmology training and research and works to connect patients to care as part of its effort to advance equity in eye health.
