Pacific Marine Mammal Center, based in Laguna Beach, California, is a nonprofit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases marine mammals, with a focus on seals and sea lions. Its work advances ocean stewardship through research, education, and collaboration. Admissions follow standardized protocols overseen by the Animal Care Director and the Veterinary Medical Director, with treatments that can include antibiotics, subcutaneous fluids, tube feeding, wound care, and other necessary care.

Most animals arrive dehydrated and require nourishment through tube feeding before being weaned to whole fish. Before release, each animal is tagged with a color-coded identification number to indicate rehabilitation and to help identify the animal and care center if further care is needed. A recent development noted is a June 2026 partnership with the Fort Wayne Zoo to support joint conservation efforts for Pacific marine mammals.
