Overcoming Obstacles is a free life skills program that helps educators engage students, decrease dropout rates, improve school and classroom environments, and prepare children for college and careers. Overcoming Obstacles covers over 20 vital life skills, including how to communicate effectively, make good decisions, and set and achieve goals. The program is a 2013 recipient of the National Dropout Prevention Center's Crystal Star Award, and has received numerous awards and recognition throughout its 22-year successful track record. Educators teaching Overcoming Obstacles say it is easy to use, effective, and flexible, seamlessly fitting into core content classes, advisory periods, afterschool and summer programs, and more. Students say there are decreases in bullying, improved senses of self-esteem, and stronger relationships with teachers and peers. Overcoming Obstacles is used by thousands of educators across all 50 states and has improved outcomes for over three million children to date.
