OS-Climate is a Linux Foundation initiative that aims to create a transparently governed public utility of open data and open-source tools for climate-aligned finance, business, and regulation. Based in New York, New York, it coordinates a collaborative effort to close data gaps that hinder scalable capital flows toward a resilient Net Zero economy. The effort centers on the OS-C Data Commons, a federated library of corporate and factor data and analytics tools to support asset allocation, portfolio construction, security analysis, credit analysis, corporate engagement, and transition investment. Its membership includes asset owners, asset managers, banks, technology and financial data firms, NGOs, and academic institutions, illustrating its cross-sector positioning in climate finance and governance. In 2022, OS-Climate announced a collaboration with GLEIF to integrate LEI data into Amazon's Sustainability Data Initiative, reflecting active cross-platform partnerships.
