Orion Magazine is a nonprofit publisher that produces a print and digital magazine focused on the connections between people and the environments they inhabit. Since its first issue in 1982, it has explored how humanity can live on Earth justly, sustainably, and with joy, delivering content without advertising in its pages. Based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, the organization relies on donations and subscriptions to fund its work.

Its New Constellation Initiative guides its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to elevate diverse, global voices and to present the environment as inseparable from culture. In addition to the magazine, Orion publishes an annual anthology, hosts writing workshops in New York's Hudson Valley and online, and conducts virtual events with thought leaders in science, art, and the environmental movement.
