Organ Historical Society is a nonprofit organization based in Villanova, Pennsylvania, focused on researching and preserving pipe organs. Its origins lie in a 1950s gathering of organ enthusiasts in New York City and it has grown into an international community of musicians, organbuilders, historians, scholars, and music lovers. It maintains an online database with more than 60,000 pipe organ entries, supports a historic organ citation program recognizing more than 400 instruments, and publishes scholarly materials while organizing annual conventions and operating an online store. Its headquarters are at Stoneleigh Estate in Villanova, a historic mansion on a 40-acre site managed by Natural Lands Trust. Stoneleigh showcases a historic Aeolian-Skinner organ at its centerpiece and houses the Organ Historical Society Library and Archives, a renowned research collection. Renovation and relocation of the organization were funded with support from the Wyncote Foundation.
