OEC is a software development company headquartered in Fairlawn, Ohio, employing between 1,001 and 5,000 people. It was formed in 2000 by GM, Ford, Chrysler, and Bell & Howell (now Snap-on Business Solutions) to address manual parts transactions among dealerships, mechanical shops, and collision shops. In 2001, OEC launched CollisionLink, the first e-commerce tool enabling shops to buy OE parts from dealership suppliers, and soon after launched D2DLink to connect dealers nationwide, expanding its dealer base from 500 to 10,000. Over the years, the company developed and acquired additional solutions for maintenance and repair, including non-OE aftermarket parts and tools for repairers. Today, OEC provides technology and data services that connect dealers, suppliers, repairers, manufacturers, insurers, and fleets across the vehicle parts and repair lifecycle, with substantial e-commerce and global trade activity in the past year (over $14B in North American e-commerce and over $30B in global trade).
