Northshore Youth and Family Services (NYFS) was founded in 1971 by a prominent group of community members to work on the issue of juvenile delinquency. In the early years, three employees met with teens and families to strengthen communication, enhance problem solving skills, and reduce maladaptive behaviors. They partnered with businesses in the community and sought funding through the United Way to support their efforts. As the years went by, additional counselors were hired,  and in 1990 the agency moved to downtown Bothell.  In having more staff and more space, NYFS was able to increase services by offering school-based services, chemical dependency services, the Healthy Start parenting program, and became a pivotal part of the Youth Suicide Prevention team. In 2017,  the agency moved to a new location in Bothell near the Seattle Times campus to better meet the needs of clients and the community.
 
Throughout the years, NYFS has been a pillar, a partner, and an outstanding neighbor to Bothell and its surrounding communities. We are also a proud member of the Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce.  We look forward to continuing our service to those in need.
