The Northshore Concert Band is a small wind ensemble based in Evanston, Illinois, founded in 1956 by John Paynter. It has given hundreds of concerts for audiences across Europe, Canada, and the United States. Now in its 64th season, the group is recognized for musical excellence and its role in advancing community music and music education, with artistic leadership provided by Dr. Mallory Thompson and Assistant Conductor Daniel Farris.

It has commissioned nine new wind-band works and released seven recordings, and it was the first group to receive the John Philip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Silver Scroll, with notable appearances at the Midwest Clinic and performances with the Chicago Symphony Chorus at Orchestra Hall. The ensemble carries out a regular schedule of 12-15 concerts annually in the Chicago metropolitan area, including a concert series at Northwestern University’s Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, educational outreach to area schools, and a mix of invitational summer concerts and participation in professional band festivals and conferences, reaching more than 20,000 people.
