The Northern California Recycling Association (NCRA) is a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade organization that brings together recycling businesses, community groups, municipalities and individuals. Based in Berkeley, California, it operates within the renewable energy semiconductor manufacturing sector. Its mission is to advance waste reduction, reuse, salvaging, recycling and composting as practical tools for conserving resources and energy and for environmentally sound disposal of discarded materials. Founded in 1978, NCRA's membership is concentrated in Northern California and the organization engages locally, regionally, statewide and nationally as needed. In February 2026, NCRA hosted the 30th Annual Recycling Update in San Francisco, a premier event for resource recovery professionals in the region.
