Next One Up is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that provides individualized, wrap-around support designed to empower underserved young men to become future leaders in the city. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has evolved from offering camperships to running a year-round, multi-year program that serves more than 100 scholar athletes from numerous Baltimore neighborhoods and over 45 different middle and high schools. The program combines academics with leadership development to create purpose-filled out-of-school time and helps students develop a concrete, long-term vision for their futures, aiming to cultivate self-reliance and social consciousness. As part of its mission, NOU works within the nonprofit sector to address educational and leadership gaps for its targeted youth, operating from Baltimore, Maryland.
