New Mexico Asian Family Center (NMAFC) is a civic and social organization based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, founded in 2006 by Asian women to address the lack of culturally and linguistically tailored services for the Pan-Asian community. The center provides a range of free, in-house services including individual and family counseling, legal consultation and representation, navigation support, yoga and bodywork for survivors, and referrals to trusted agencies, with a focus on serving Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian (APINH) communities. Its programs center traditional healing methods, youth and community leadership development, financial education, cross-racial movement building, and ongoing civic engagement aimed at increasing APINH representation among immigrant, refugee, and citizen voices. Multilingual capabilities and interpreter support enable care in multiple languages, and services are designed to be accessible to those who prefer different languages. NMAFC operates within the civic and social sector, aiming to empower affected communities through survivor-led and community-driven approaches, leadership programs, and regular community gatherings such as Tea Talks for young women, gender non-conforming, and non-binary APINH individuals.
