The Natural Stone Institute is a non-profit trade association that serves all facets of the natural stone industry. It provides technical guidance, training resources, professional development opportunities, regulatory advocacy, and networking events to a global membership of more than 2,000 across over 50 countries. The organization also publishes the Dimension Stone Design Manual and Building Stone Magazine to promote best practices and inform design professionals. Based in Oberlin, Ohio, the institute traces its formation to 2018, when the Marble Institute of America merged with the Building Stone Institute, uniting several historic industry bodies. In 2026, NSI announced a collaboration with Yale to release a new fabricator resource developed through the Yale School of Medicine's Occupational and Environmental Medicine Program.
