The National Institute on Out-of-School Time, or NIOST, focuses on the healthy development of children, families, and communities by advancing the out-of-school time field through research, training, advocacy, and tools. It supports before-school, afterschool, expanded learning, and summer programs to improve what they do. NIOST operates as a program of the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College. Based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the organization serves OST programs and related community partners by offering research-informed knowledge, training, advocacy, and practical tools to improve quality and outcomes. In May 2023, NIOST's OST program formed a partnership with Vetri Community Partnership to expand nutrition education through cooking for more than 20,000 people in Philadelphia and Camden each year.
