The Métropole du Grand Paris is an urban intercommunal authority that brings together 12 territories and 130 communes in the Île-de-France region surrounding Paris. It was established following territorial reform laws enacted in 2014 and 2015 and began operating on 1 January 2016. As a government administrative body, it is responsible for economic, social and cultural development; environmental protection and quality of life; metropolitan spatial planning; and local housing policy. The organization is based in Paris and maintains a workforce in the low hundreds. In late 2025, it participated in a collaboration with Alyce, Logicités and the City of Aubervilliers to organize a four-party conference at the Mayors and Local Authorities Exhibition to discuss a data-driven project for rethinking logistics parking.
