The Museum of Worcester, also referred to as Worcester Historical Museum, is a cultural institution in Worcester, Massachusetts dedicated to preserving the city's local history. Its holdings encompass a research library with more than 7,000 titles, an archival collection housing thousands of documents, and a broad array of artifacts that illuminate Worcester’s social, economic, and political developments. The museum operates Salisbury Mansion, Worcester's only historic house museum, which was built in 1772 and restored to a 1830s appearance, with extensive family papers contributing to its documentation. The organization presents permanent and rotating exhibitions alongside educational programs, guided tours, and publications that interpret Worcester's history. In 2025 it notes its 150th anniversary, accompanied by updates to the Fuller Industrial Gallery and renovated entrances and lobby, as well as ongoing initiatives such as the Worcester Women's History Project tied to the 175th anniversary of the first National Women's Rights Convention. Current exhibits include Chin Family, The Magic of Candlepin Bowling, and Home for the Holidays at Salisbury Mansion.
