Murray State College is a public, co-educational community college located in southeastern Oklahoma, with campuses in Ardmore and Tishomingo. It offers associate degrees in science, arts and applied science, and recently added a bachelor's degree in gunsmithing technology. Named in honor of former Oklahoma Governor William H. 'Alfalfa Bill' Murray, the college emphasizes opportunities for student learning, personal growth, professional success and community enhancement. It serves more than 3,000 students annually from its two campuses. It serves a ten-county area that includes Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray and Pontotoc.
