Mt. Cuba Center is a botanic garden in Hockessin, Delaware, devoted to native plants and conservation. Housed on the former private estate of Pamela and Lammot du Pont Copeland, it opened to the public in 2013 and now covers 68 acres of cultivated gardens along with more than 1,000 acres of natural lands, connected by three miles of trails. It is recognized as a leader in native plant research, education, and open space preservation, with efforts that have protected about 15,000 acres in the mid-Atlantic region. The center provides year‑round gardening, art, and conservation classes, available in person and online, and maintains seasonal visiting hours for the gardens. In 2025, trade publications Garden Center Magazine, Nurserymag, and Greenhouse Management reported partnerships with Mt. Cuba Center to review and adapt its evaluation processes.
