MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES), formerly the OEOP, is a program within MIT focused on engaging highly motivated students in grades 7 through 12 from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. It provides hands-on STEM experiences designed to build confidence, foster a lifelong sense of community, and establish a challenging foundation in science and engineering. All programs are offered at no cost to participants or their families, and MITES serves about 300 students annually, with a majority coming from low socio-economic backgrounds and underrepresented minority groups.
