Minnesota Fringe is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization in the performing arts that connects adventurous artists with adventurous audiences throughout the year. Its flagship effort, the Minnesota Fringe Festival, is one of the largest fringe festivals in North America, drawing roughly 50,000 attendees to over 100 shows, 500 performances, and 1,000+ artists on stages across the Twin Cities. In addition to the festival, Minnesota Fringe runs year-round programs that include Family Fringe, Drafts & Draughts, Beyond the Box, Fringe Presents, and Five Fifths. The organization is governed by a board and operated by a year-round staff, expanding to nearly 100 seasonal hires in the summer and supported by more than 250 volunteers. A 2022 initiative, the Equity Lottery, designates the first 10 percent of festival slots for BIPOC producers, writers, directors, and choreographers.
