The Ministère des Affaires étrangères français functions as France’s ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, a government body that shapes and communicates the country’s international policy. Based in Paris, in the Île-de-France region, it covers foreign policy, trade, and foreign direct investment, and explains how France engages with global challenges. It acts as the central authority coordinating France’s international positions and outreach to partners abroad. As a major government ministry, it maintains a substantial workforce to support its operations. Its primary audience includes foreign governments, international organizations, researchers, and other policymakers involved in global affairs, and it serves to inform and facilitate international collaboration. Recent activity reflects ongoing international engagement, such as the April 2026 announcement of a bilateral scientific collaboration with NAWA to formalize long-standing cooperation between French and Polish institutions.
