The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is a collegiate athletic association that coordinates competition across fourteen Division I (FCS) sports for eight historically Black institutions along the Atlantic coast. Based in Norfolk, Virginia, the conference supports sports including basketball, football, cross country, track and field, tennis, bowling, softball, and volleyball, and secures automatic NCAA qualification bids in several of these sports. MEAC emphasizes academic as well as athletic achievement, sponsoring All-Academic teams and awarding post-graduate scholarships to student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. The organization functions as a regional umbrella for member institutions, organizing intercollegiate competition and events such as championship play and postseason opportunities. Recent activity includes publicized events and partnerships connected to MEAC Foundation initiatives, reflecting ongoing community engagement and event hosting within the regional sports landscape.
