Meals on Wheels Chicago has been a beacon of support for seniors and individuals with disabilities for over 36 years, offering crucial assistance as the need for these services continues to rise. With one in six Americans projected to be 65 years or older by 2060, and a significant increase in the aging population in Cook County, the demand for programs like ours is greater than ever.

Many seniors face challenges with daily tasks that can seem insurmountable. As their numbers grow, so does the need to support them in maintaining healthy and dignified lives. Meals on Wheels Chicago is dedicated to addressing these challenges through three key areas: food security, socialization, and overall health and well-being.

In response to the soaring cost of food and the difficult decisions many seniors face, we launched the Nourish Chicago Pantry in May 2022. This program provides fresh produce, healthy protein options, shelf-stable goods, and wellness items to seniors in need, ensuring that they never have to choose between food, medicine, and housing.
