Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) removes barriers to justice through free civil legal help, community engagement, and advocacy for equitable laws. Our vision is for a fair legal system that is free of injustice and equitably serves underrepresented Marylanders. Each eligible individual client is matched with a volunteer who has the appropriate skills and expertise to provide quality representation. With a volunteer pool of over 1,000 lawyers, CPAs, enrolled agents, and special education advocates and consultants, MVLS provides services in every jurisdiction in the state. MVLS provides trainings and mentors for volunteers in all legal areas listed below, as well as malpractice insurance. To learn more about volunteering, visit https://mvlslaw.org/volunteer/.
