Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a nonprofit provider dedicated to rehabilitation for both children and adults. Founded in 1891, it is described as the largest nonprofit rehabilitation system in the United States. The organization offers more than 100 specialized medical and sports rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from conditions such as brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, amputations, cancer, and other diagnoses, including COVID-19. It operates a rehabilitation network established in 2011 that extends expertise to more than three dozen acute-care hospitals across Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Virginia. In 2026, the system expanded with new outpatient locations in the Grand Rapids area and announced a partnership with Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital to build Michigan's first pediatric rehabilitation hospital for infants, children, and teens.
