Make The World Better Foundation is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 2013 by Connor Barwin, who at that time was a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2017 MTWB merged with Urban Roots, expanding its partnership network to support public space redevelopment. The organization concentrates on creating high-quality public spaces that offer safe outlets for recreation, sports, and arts activities, with an emphasis on civic engagement through community-led processes. Its mission is to improve communities one park, one neighborhood at a time, with a vision of a city where residents of all neighborhoods take pride in and own their parks and public spaces. The work centers on a community-led public space redevelopment process that engages multiple partners to address local needs and sustain quality recreational and arts opportunities.
