Mahidol University is a major public higher education institution in Thailand with a long-standing emphasis on medical education, while also spanning natural sciences, liberal arts, engineering and technology. The university comprises 17 faculties, 6 colleges, 7 research institutes and 3 centers, delivering programs across medicine, public health, nursing, dentistry, engineering, computer science, the social and natural sciences, and the arts. Its origins lie in the Siriraj Hospital medical school established in 1888, with the institution adopting its current name in 1969 in honor of Prince Mahidol following royal designation. In 2026, Mahidol International participated in the launch of Osscentric, a Medical Technology Innovation Sandbox developed with OsseoLabs and Ramathibodi Hospital to accelerate next-generation medical technologies. The project illustrates active involvement in collaborative innovation that links clinical practice with engineering and broader Thai innovation ecosystems.
