Maestro Cares Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, founded in 2012 by Marc Anthony and Henry Cárdenas. The foundation works to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and communities in Latin America and the United States by funding sustainable projects through partnerships with local organizations. Its work seeks to create safe, healthy environments and to support children's developmental and academic needs, including a scholarship program for Latino/a students who excel academically and demonstrate financial need and charitable engagement. To date, the organization has funded 45 projects across 17 countries and territories, benefiting thousands of children and youth. Recent developments include a partnership with the Lower Eastside Girls Club in New York City to fund a Center for Wellbeing and Happiness (October 2022) and the ongoing Proyecto MABA STEM initiative in Peru, launched in 2019 in collaboration with the University of Technology and Engineering.
