Lutheran Services in America is a nationwide alliance of health and human service organizations. The network includes around 300 nonprofit groups delivering services across about 1,400 communities and collectively offers more than $26 billion in annual services. Its work targets outcomes for children, youth and families, expands independence and choice for older adults, provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and assists veterans, refugees and other special populations. Founded in 1997, the organization brings together leaders, partners and funders to foster innovation, enhance organizational capacity, and influence public policy. Based in Washington, D.C., it operates within the nonprofit sector. In May 2026, the organization announced the appointment of Sarah Haight as vice president of program planning and growth.
