The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a cultural institution focused on exploring visual storytelling and its impact on society, offering expansive galleries, theaters, and dedicated spaces for learning, dining, retail, and events within an 11-acre campus in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. The museum seeks to connect visitors with narratives across media, situating itself within the museums, historical sites, and zoos sector while pursuing a contemporary architectural context designed by Ma Yansong and implemented with Stantec as executive architect. It serves a broad audience interested in visual art and storytelling, aiming to illuminate how narrative forms influence culture and public discourse. Based in Los Angeles, the museum was co-founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson and is advancing towards a 2026 opening timeline, with ongoing construction and campus development that includes substantial green space. Recent developments include organizational changes as the institution prepares for the anticipated opening date in 2026. The museum’s setting and program emphasize education and engagement, seeking to provide spaces for learning, programs, and community events in addition to its galleries and theaters.
