The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless is a small nonprofit organization that coordinates services for people experiencing homelessness across Long Island. Based in Amityville, New York, it brings together nonprofit groups, government representatives, and community members to guide the region's approach to homelessness through the Continuum of Care. The group coordinates the region's funding application process with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support housing and services for the homeless. In addition to coordination and advocacy, LICH distributes essential items and works with homeless individuals to help them obtain permanent housing. Recent developments include hosting the second annual Stuff the Pantry event in November 2025 and a 2024 partnership with Northwell Health to expand healthcare services and address social determinants of health.
