Bemol was founded on August 13, 1942, by Samuel, Israel and Saul Benchimol as a commercial representation company. In its first years of history it worked selling medicines and later on cereals, cement and household appliances, a branch in which it currently operates.

It has become a modern and agile company, standing out as a market leader in almost every segment in which it operates: electronics, home appliances, furniture, self attending, automotive products, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, food and among others.

For several years in a row, it has been identified in market and brand research as the most recalled Department Store by the population of Manaus.
