Loaves & Fishes MN provides free, healthy meals to people across Minnesota, incorporating a local farm-to-table approach during the growing season. Founded in 1982 with one dining site in Minneapolis and one in St. Paul, the organization now operates more than 70 meal outlets and serves over a million meals annually across eight counties. As the state's largest open-to-the-public meal program, it centers its mission on meeting basic needs for food, dignity, and respect for all who participate, regardless of socioeconomic, cultural, or ethnic background. The program serves the general public, providing meals at no cost to address hunger and food insecurity while maintaining an inclusive environment. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the small to mid-sized nonprofit operates within the civic and social services sector. In late 2025, a St. Gabriel meal site in Hopkins closed, followed by the closure of the organization's St. Gabriel offices.
